Standing tall at 175 feet, the Ponce de Leon Light Station is Florida's tallest lighthouse. Burn off a few calories climbing its 213 iron steps for a great view of Daytona Beach, the Atlantic Ocean and its bell-shaped dome capping off the structure. Once on the ground, don't forget to visit the many exhibits found within the several other buildings making up the museum.

Ponce de Leon Light
Invented in the 1820s by Augustin Fresnel, these and other rings of crystalline prisms arranged in a faceted dome that could reflect refracted light, the Fresnel Lens, was the most important advancement of its time. Now able to project light over 20 miles, these beacons have saved millions of sailors since its inception.
