Housed in an 11th-century building (known as the Castello d'Altafonre), the museum is dedicated to astronometer and scientist, Galileo Galilei, and displays a collection of various instrumentation reflecting the era's promotion of scientific reseach. Additionally, the museum offers the viewer a literal step back in time with a number of wall, pendulum and astronomical clocks on display.
