Museo Larco
Housed in an 18th century vice-royal mansion, the Museo Larco not only showcases over 5000 years of pre-Columbian or ancient Peruvian history on display (and many more can be seen in a visible storage area) but there is also a garden full of vibrant plants, beautiful decor, and a great restaurant for lunch. Additionally on display are treasures and pottery widely used during the Inca and Pre-Inca ancient cultures. And, to the amusement of many visitors, a collection of "naughty" erotic pottery and sculptures captured everyone's attention. Obviously, something for everyone. The Museo Larco was the first museum in Latin America to electronically catalogue its entire collection and make it accessible to the general public through an online catalogue.
