Located at the end of the road on the north shore of Kaua'i Island and lying within a tropical valley, the Limahuli Garden and Preserve is just one of the five gardens of the non-profit National Tropical Botanical Garden system, three of which are on Kauai Island. With the Makana Mountain ridge looming behind the garden, the garden is a wonderful 17-acre botanical paradise containing a wide range of native and Polynesian-introduced plants, while the rest of the property is a 985-acre nature preserve. The north shore of the island is definitely a very unique place on earth and the garden, a gem within this amazing landscape.
