ZION NATIONAL PARK

Established in 1919, Zion National Park is located in southwestern Utah and at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin and Mojave Desert. And while the trifecta of regions offers a unique geography teeming with a large diversity of plants and wildlife, many come to the park to enjoy the Narrows.

The Narrows' gorge is the narrowest section of Zion Canyon with walls a thousand feet tall, the Virgin River sometimes just twenty to thirty feet wide flowing through the ravine, and if you don't mind getting wet, you can traverse the gorge by walking in the Virgin River. This can involve wading upstream for just a few minutes or it can be an all day hike, making it one of the most popular hikes in the park.
